Rose & Cream Moisturizing Mask

This is a beautiful skin care treatment all the way around: lovely appearance, wonderful fragrance, and fabulous results.  Another plus -- it's great for all skin types from sensitive and dry to oily (it moisturizes without feeling heavy.) 

Rose & Cream Moisturizing Mask
1/8 cup cream (light for combo to oily skin, heavy for drier skin types)
¼ cup organically grown rose petals, preferably a highly fragrant variety
2 tablespoons cup rose water (available at specialty grocery and health food stores)
1/8 cup uncooked oats, blended in food processor or blender until a fine powder  
Optional: 1 drop geranium, rose geranium, or (for the ultimate luxury) rose essential oil

In a small saucepan, mix cream and rose petals.  Heat on very low heat until thoroughly warmed (take care not to scorch the cream).  Let stand 10-15 minutes.  Strain out rose petals, reserving cream.  In a small bowl, mix cream, rose water, oats, and essential oils until well blended.  Note: you may need to add more or less oats to get desired consistency.

To use:  Smooth over cleansed face and neck.  Let set 15 minutes.  Remove with a warm washcloth and water. 

Yield: 2 treatments

Store unused portion in the refrigerator and use within 3 days.
